Preview: Arsenal vs. Brighton & Man United vs. Liverpool

Brighton feature in the early kick-off for the second week running, this time travelling to the Emirates where one team’s perfect record will end. The Seagulls, with Joao Pedro dropping deeper to create space for Welbeck, have outscored Arsenal across two games and pose a threat all over the pitch, particularly from set pieces with their towering central defenders.

However, Arsenal are yet to concede this season, thanks in part to Raya’s heroics in their win over Villa. Despite lingering questions about their goal-scoring ability, they’ve won both matches by scoring twice. Havertz, despite a shaky start in North London, is showing signs of revitalization, having nearly matched his career-best goal contributions last season.

Both teams favour possession, so the battle for control in midfield will be crucial. Brighton may sit deeper and look to counter through Mitoma and Pedro, while Arsenal’s physical midfield will aim to box them in.

Wrapping up the weekend, Man United face Liverpool in a historic rivalry. United have yet to impress, lacking conviction in attack, which could see Zirkzee start. Defensive lapses against Brighton led to preventable goals, raising concerns.

Liverpool, with a chance to extend their perfect record, boast a formidable attack. Salah, Jota, and Diaz have already combined for multiple goal contributions. Without forgetting their defence, they kept two clean sheets in two games and will be looking to make it a third at their bitter rivals' ground.

Under Ten Hag, United have proven to be devastating on the break, while Liverpool have no intention of sitting deep. As a high-octane team that swiftly transitions from back to front, Liverpool could easily exploit any gaps United leave behind. There will be chances for both teams to go and win this game.
